Were US television companies right to show the footage of that bloke having his head cut off?

The only possible justification for showing the video is the fact that a media war is being waged, using cheap shots, such as fake pictures. Therefore many people may have been sceptical about the authenticity of the video and the claims made. However from what I gather (I've not seen the video) there is no doubt that the execution is, sadly, genuine.

They were wrong, but hey; it whips up more hatred for those evil A-Rabs, and all that it costs is the sight of some poor bloke's last, terror and pain filled moments. And the US Govt. has plenty of sheep to toss away in the name of extending it's War on Terror, so...

I'd advise against it. The video / pictures are grim. Poor bloke.

It's disrespectful too, in my opinion.

I think the news companies should have taken into account the wishes of his family, who did not want his death made public.

Of course I realise that people could find the video on the internet, but I think that is different to broadcasting on TV.

Personally, I dislike it when dead people are shown on TV, and I would rather they didn't do it. Often they don't give a warning to say that your going to see images of dead people.

Did they show the full video? the one I've just watched on CBS cuts when the knife comes out, and fades to a website.
