He stared at the blank page. ‘Make love to me with your words’ it seemed to cry. He wrote. He wrote of missed opportunities, faded dreams and broken promises. The page bled and shrank away from him, yet he continued to write, his words getting smaller and smaller. He wrote of jaded adventurers and heart-broken thieves, false commitments and treacherous honour. The page grew larger but still his words shrank as he wrote, until all he could see was white, endless white, and suddenly there was only a blank page.
