So now that PSO has been out awhile, most of us who were excited about it have played it. So where can this new idea go from here ?

I for one have enjoyed playing online and meeting new people. It has been a new experience and has turned out as the truly great idea it had promised to be. But, there are things that could be improved for future games aiming to better PSO.

For a start, after weeks / months of playing PSO online, although your meeting new people all the time, the quests you enter become very repetative. In the end, it feels as though your paying for the same experience everynight. If another game is released with the mind to beat PSO, it would benefit greatly if the online quests / missions were improved. If I haven't been helping other people to complete the offline game, I've been killing a certain amount of monsters within a time limit for a bit of money. It would be great if there were more varied quests with other things to aim for and more team work with others required beyond standing on a bunch of switches at the same time.

Another (very annoying) thing that most PSO players have encountered are the thieves. Theres always players that are only interested in annoying others.
And no doubt unintentionally, the games creators have actually helped these type of people do their damage !
Because teams mates can't hurt eachother, all a thief has to do is wait for an enemy to KO you and their free to steal your weapon and money and leave ! Theres nothing your team mates can even do to stop it happening. Of course being able to hurt your team mates will lead to other problems, but surely something can be done to solve this problem. Afterall, the Sonic Team condemn cheating in the game and really, this is a form of cheating. A beginner could enter quests, wait for their team mates to go down and steal all their valuable weapons and money.

In a way this adds to the experience, but if someone chooses to act as a thief, surely there should be an element of risk in this "career".

Also, maybe there could be a few different versions of the same game, a lot like the Pokemon games. The different versions could give the player access to different weapons, thus starting a way players can trade different weapons together, or even sell and buy them from eachother.

It will be interesting to see how the Online RPG genre developes from here. It has a wonderful start in PSO, now lets see some titles to rival it.
