Wookiee's summing up of a 'hardcore' gamer: Small-minded, blinkered, biased, and afraid of change.
Ant's summing up of a hardcore gamer: It looks like to be a hardcore gamer we must: have no social life, not listen to music, not watch movies, not play on any other consoles, always have a set time to play on our consoles, we must have no friends that our 'casual gamers' and we are not allowd to like Sony or the PSX/PS2!!
Hmmmmm........
If you would like to read all of what Pagey put, rather than a summing up, please fell free to visit New Jimmy's topic, "Invest in the future. Invest in a PS2."
I play games. Sometimes i play most evenings in the week. Other times i dont play at all for 10 days or so. I enjoy my gaming, but i dont do it the detriment of all else. If something more appealing comes up, then i'll do that instead.
Sometimes i feel like going down the pub to watch the football, or go to the cinema with my girlfriend or whatever. Sometimes its nice to have a night in with the lads and kill everyone at Goldeneye with a few beers and a pizza or something.
What i'm trying to say is, in the words of The Rock and Wyclef Jean:
"It doesn't matter!!!"
> For once Sniper is right - and I don't care what 'class' I am. I
> play games. Full-stop.
Exactly.
But I think we're heading back to the "Britney Spears" game thred.
I couldnt care less what "class" of gamer I am.
I play when I get the chance, but if it comes down to an evening out with mates or seeing my girlfriend and an evening sitting in front of a screen playing games?
There ain't much of a choice.
Sometimes me and some buddies'll get the junk food and have an evening of fighting games and sports type, or I'll stick it on when I'm bored and stuck indoors.
But I dont hide from the outside world or turn down evenings socialising to play video games.
Except for Black and White making me take the next day off work, but any reason for that is valid.

Well, I would say GT2 is a hardcore game, because it takes so long to complete!!
Surely a 'casual' gamer would give up on it after a while??
