That ending confused the hell out of my media class. I was a bit flumoxed. I preferred the book too - the eye of Japetus and all that - although the way blokey dies silently is magnificent, I thought.

Very good, albeit hard to decide if it is or not at most points.

My cat used to be *obsessed* with the opening of the movie... she wouldn't take her eyes off it. Big cats and furry humans, it must have confused the hell out of her!

Heh, I read that too, did a bit of investigating with the IMDB.

Excellent, excellent film.

A friend of mine watched it and his only comment was "They don't say much.". He got quite upset when I tried to slap him.

EDIT: Pointless trivia - it was excluded from the Best Costumes OSCAR category because the judges thought they'd used real apes.

If I ever get a huge TV, this would probably be the first dvd I'd watch on it.

Sorry about that, got a bit excited. Got a chance to see this again last night, and it's still as mind-blowing as ever. Kubrick was a genius.
