Highlights are the first track, 'Assessment', with it's brilliant horn ending, which is now surely a trademark of Beta Band openers. The following track is also great, even if it is a bit more downbeat. Then it goes downhill a bit, but they never get too experimental, which has ruined the pace on some of their other albums. A solid effort, bound to please Beta Band fans everywhere. Now roll on Happiness in Magazines...

Nah, not heard the Broke/Won EP. Any good as a whole?
I saw em at Newcastle Uni. They were tops, though not as good as they were at Glasto 2 years ago. Mind you, I'd also just watched QOTSA, Mercury Rev, and Spiritualised on the same stage and my 3rd naughty little present was kicking in. So I was in a very receptive mood.

Not as much as Welsh rapping...
But yeah, Scottish rapping sucks donkeys.
I think this album is their best so far in that they no longer seem to be deliberately trying to sabotage their own tunes. Still, anything is better than "The Beta Band Rap"
~shudder~
