I won another xbox last week and can not decide to trade it for 3 new xbox games, or for a DS.

Grab Mercenaries, then if you're getting back on live get Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and Rainbow Six: Lockdown when they're out.

It depends what games really.. but teh DS would be useful for your trip.
