Chevy Chase used to be a funny guy. All that Saturday Night Live stuff, his great role as the old golf pro in Caddyshack, and who can forget Clark W Griswold in National Lampoon's Vacation and Christmas Vacation?
He was in Fletch, the partially hilarious Spies Like Us, and The Three Amigos, some great 80’s comedies.

He was definitely an 80’s hero of mine along with people like Eddie Murphy, Gary Coleman, Mr. T, and ALF, but as we all know, Chevy pretty much disappeared into obscurity in the 90’s, starring in a load of downright crap and a handful of cameo appearances.
However, he looks like he’s plunged to new depths with this little beauty;

The Karate Dog.

Plot summary (courtesy on the IMDB): “When LAPD computer expert Peter Fowler investigates the killing of an old man in Chinatown, he finds the only witness is his dog, Cho Cho. But Fowler soon discovers Cho Cho is the only dog in the world who can speak to humans... not only that, Cho Cho is an expert in martial arts. When they join forces to track down the mastermind behind the death of Cho Cho's master, it leads these unusual partners into uncovering a dangerous conspiracy which puts both of their lives in danger.”

Yes, a talking karate-kicking dog in a crime caper. It’s like Turner & Hooch, K-9 (and all it’s many sequels) never happened.

But what’s Chevy Chase got to do with this cinematic abomination? He provides the voice of Cho-Cho.
And it’s got Mr. Miyagi in it too.

I really can’t wait for this movie.

He had a minor role in a little cult classic called "The Groove Tube", back in the 70's before he was famous. That was really good actually, wonder if I can find a copy anywhere...
