I've been listening to more of it over the past few days. My dad has an extensive collection, so all I do is put them on my HD and then on my Zen, and listen.

Currently, Jazz in Paris with Oscar Peterson and Stephanie Graphelli is on

(can you see my oh so subtle pretentiousness?)

Nice stuff. Some of the other stuff I've listened to is damn cheesy, some is excellent.

I think I'll explore this alongside rock as well...

What I said - Jazz in Paris. Piano/Violin for the main part.

I thought violin was an odd choice..but meh.

My dad also has a boxset of 'Jazz greats', meaning some I like and some are crap, like any compilation. I like two by Stan Getz and Teddy Wilson though.
