On the Box of my new TV it says surround sound, but before I thought that surround sound has to be several speakers which are spread around the room, but mine comes only with the 2 big speakers attached on the sides and a third one in the middle under the screen, so is that really surround sound or what ? and how do I make sure ?

It's virtual Surround Sound, my TV has it and it's guff. If you want Surround Sound get a proper system.
I don't want surround sound, I just need to know : is it going to be ok if turned on the surround sound option in ps2 games, on the old TV some of the sounds could not be heard, but what about this one , is it ok ?
PS2 is Dolby Pro Logic/2, if it's not Virtual Pro Logic then it will just be the same sounds out of all 3 speakers which takes away the point of Dolby Digital Surround Sound. You haven't said whether it is Pro Logic/Pro Logic 2/Dolby Stereo/Dolby Digital etc.
How do I find out ?
Hey, I've just checked it, there is a fourth speaker, It's called super woofer surround speaker.
