Installing and running OmniHTTP. I've tried this before, more than once, and I never got PHP running. I basically want to be able to do the same things with PHP offline, as I do when I upload them - and this should allow that, right? So I need someone to tell me where I'm going so wrong. Please.
It's really not hard at all to install Apache and PHP separately. On Windows XP or something, it installs very easily, and there are good readme files included to help you. Just follow simple instructions and it's easy.

Yup, XAMPP is wonderful. I use it for my Perl and it's great.
Get Xampp (that link below), it is the best thing in the world ever.

I concur. Apache is the king of web-servers.
Unless you really want to learn this, I suggest you just download one of the numerous apache/php/mysql pre-configured packages that are available such as
