"Voluntary Vietnam"

The opportunity has arisen (don't bother, FFF) for me to go out to Vietnam for 5 weeks with some people to do some voluntary work and stuff. I'm extremely tempted, and was adamant to go the moment I heard about it. Basically, it's a group that does this every year or so - fly out to some village and stuff to help the local people do stuff. Last year, or the year before (I forget), they went to somewhere in Africa and helped rebuild a school etc, and did work around the village.

Aaanyyway, I'm seriously thinking about going. It'll be an experience, I can guarentee myself that I suppose. The major thing is though, the price.
£1800.
It covers materials etc etc for the labour. Some of the stuff that'll be done, apparently, is working in and repairing a child's hospital, a general revamp of the village, working in an orphanage (which would humbling I suppose) and more.

I don't think many, if any people I know are going - which would make the experience all the stranger - flying out to a foreign coutry with 15-20 or so people I don't know to help local villagers. It'd be the first time I'd have done anything at all like this, but I can't help but feel it'd be great.

Anyway, just thought I'd let you think about my insanity for a bit. It's next summer, and, though it seems like a while away, I think I need to make a decision fairly quickly, as there are training weekends and so on building up to it - so you can familiarise yourself with everyone and the likes.

So yeah. Vietnam maaann.

Plus climbing up a mountain, but jungle makes up for that.

I've never been to Vietnam, so I can't directly comment on it. But it sounds so much fun. Your life will change after that. Plus, 5 weeks away from us. Does it get any better?

We also go canoeing and stuff or something, around the islands that are near it and stuff.
I need to clarify these details...

So yeah, all good pros - and like Kyz said, the only real con is the cost. And the landmines.
