Its a great book no doubt, but I find it a bit simple.

But The Hobbit is a better book than The Lord of this Rings books. So i'd reckon not.

They're making a film on The Hobbit at this very moment!
There will not be in the forseeable future for this simple reason. New Line owns the rights to distribute it, but in some deal about the Hobbit made many moons ago, some other big company (I think Columbia.. could be wrong here) owns the rights to actually film it.
New Line won't distribute a film it wants to film itself but can't. Columbia or whoever won't make a film it wants to distribute as well but can't.
And neither studio, surprisingly, are willing to sell their end of the bargain, the LoTR films being so lucrative.

I read an article saying there will be but not just yet.I thought the article said something about Peter Jackson doing some other films first.
It would be great if there was probably won't be as good as the other films in LOTR series but too early to say yet.

Im almost certain there is, Ian Mckellen has confirmed he is reprising his role as gandalf as far as im aware.
