In my opinion, to sell a new and improved games console it has to make you want to play, its presentation has to attract you. For instance do they really think the "GAME CUBE" will sell if it looks like a toaster( yes i dont care
if it is a power machine it wont get to sit in my room).
The PS2 is the highest quality machine on the market but still it looks dull and the control pads are still the same as the origanal. Same with the Dreamcast controller it looks uncomfortable which makes playing playing the games look painful.
These little differences make game consoles better. Look at the N64 looks attractive, easy to play but the console itself is dying out. So they can make a machine as fast and powerfull as possible but will be harder to sell to the younger generation if it is not attractive. Even in the future as the new "X-BOX" the early pictures show a dull black box with some of America's nuclear waste shoved into it.
So would you like to see more attractive consoles or do you not mind just how could it is?
I was not aware of the handle - it now makes it look like a portable Cd player!
SHEEPY: Idiot everyone knows it has a handle
We all know how easily they loose their tempers, Nintendo are just acknowledging that with the addition of the GC Handle, which will facilitate next-gen Nintys when they have their little tantrums when getting stuck on a tricky level, like FIFA, for example....
I don't particularly mind how it looks only really how it performs BUT it does make you feel much better having an attractive console and not a radiator looking piece of material!
I agree young SHEEPY (learning from master) the DC handle looks very uncomfortable!
So yes, looks are good, but only for drawing people near to it. I personally won't buy a console for it's looks, but I know someone who won't be buying a X-Box now because it's not a "big X".
