When you're claiming benefits, there are certain conditions you must follow in order to be a candidate for claiming.

If there was an ID card scheme in place, it would be more difficult to get away with not following the criteria involved.

For example, if FF is claiming JSA, he must show that he's looking for a job.

But... How does having an ID card mean you can't sponge off other people? If he's british then there would be no problem.

I'm assuming he means, "I sponge off the government and spend your taxes." In which case, it is no wonder he opposes ID cards.
