...is possibly former ECW world heavyweight champion Terry Funk! He's been advertised for upcoming house shows in America under the guise of having been brough in by Eric Bischoff to regain law and order on Raw...hmm, sounds like a role that a fellow texan was fulfilling recently. It's not been confirmed wether he's signed a contract or not, but this must be a big step towards Terry being back on WWE television.

He certainly has the skills that will help the WWE to replace the star power lost with Austin's leaving, plus Funk can actual wrestle if needed without the possible problem of him crippling himself...

Can you be more specific Ant? What in particular about the production sucks? I think it's quite good comopared to some of the Japanese/Hardcore/RoH stuff I've seen.

Raven is great, but unfortunately, after watching The Wrestling Channel I have come to the conclusion that TNA SUCKS.

Maybe not the wrestlers...but the production is awful.

Ok, for everyone who said Funk was past it...as I said at least he is capable of putting on a semi-decent match (the guy can still do a moonsault in his late 50's...legendary) and he won the ECW world title in his early 50s.

The point is he wouldn't be a full-time talent but couuld get in the ring when storylines required it...unlike Austin. Funk is also more accomodating to younger talent, a better backstage influence than Austin and IMHO more entertaining than Austin. The 'Crazy Old Man' gimmick which he worked to perfection in ECW (and later WCW) was pure ratings.

However, it now looks likely that the house show appearnce will be a one off.

Raven is a great talent, both on the mic and in the ring(which is the best combination these days?)
I feel he is being wasted on TNA.
(although not as bad as he was in the WWE)
Unless TNA get that fox TV deal and become a decent competitor to WWE, Raven will fall into obscurity.

Does anyone remember Johnny Polo?

My favourite Raven days were in WCW, obviously. Remember when he did those vignettes with Saturn(I think) in his house with his Mom and siblings?
It was hilarious. Raven would look at the camera, and turn his eyes up to the heavens periodically. It was what made me notice the guy. It was flipping genius. You know Raven is a genius? Extremely high IQ.
The EVENFLOW DDT, his finisher is named after the Pearl Jam song of the same name. Presumably this is why the WWE changed it to the trite "Raven effect"(Legal threat)

oh, you just asked was he still wrestling?

www.nwatna.com

He wrestles for NWA-TNA, and works indy shows also.

Yeah, chainsaw charlie was a gay gimmick. But yeah he is well past it, at least a main role, if he wrestled one offs now and then it might be alright.

And someone tell me if Raven still wrestles.

And he's incredibly old. he's in his 50's.
He's past it.

I really hope they DON'T use the Chainsaw Charlie gimmick if he DOES come back.

He's like Mick Foley, in that he's all hardcore and stuff, but can do more moves.
