Games, isn’t the intelligence of them brilliant. Gaming has come so far now that it can show us who we really are by our actions. Just think what gaming will be like in a few years time, or maybe a few years after that, just think what our children will be playing.

With the recent release of Black and White by Lionhead, it really proves how far gaming has come since it started way back when pong was in fashion and millions of polygons and pixels couldn’t of been imagined. If they could see what Black and White is they would believe and be totally amazed. But really, its not the graphics of the game that makes Black and White, it is the intelligence that the game brings.

The game can show you weather you are thinking good or thinking bad and reflect that on the final outcome of many situations. One situation is the changing of the hand which represents your actions. If you are good then the hand will look much like yours or mine but, however, if you be evil to your villagers and create a fear in the land your hand will turn much like something you would see on a Halloweens night.

This showing of good and evil really can show you how you think. It may well show how we think for other games and in other situations away from our television screens or our PC monitors. But the thing is, in other games this is truly not seen anywhere but in ourselves, although we never seem to see it.

Think of how different you would be feeling and how different your actions would be on a gore covered First Person Shooter for example. Black and White is the first game to show how our actions can change the final outcome of the game and it is not exactly an 18 rated, gore infest of a title is it?

What I am trying to say here is that in Black and White, when our hand turns evil think how evil that hand would change if it were placed in another game.

So next time you play another game away from Black and White, think to yourself, what do I represent in this gaming world? What would it reflect on my hand if it were placed here? And does this show who I really am, in my inner self?

Post back some of your comments towards this or how you think your reactions change in other games.

Enjoy your games, Enjoy the future

My hand is sticking up its middle finger and letting it linger.

What would that mean? Maybe I shouldn't have told my beast to become a whte rapper with a problem with gays.

Black and White proved something to the gamer that is expriencing playing it.

And if not that it proved that games could be made in such a fashion.

That goes to show that games do have an influence on us, not major influences but small influences that don't affect our life in any way but it some cases they may.

It is ideas we see in games to, if we see something in a game we may try it for ourselves. I can think of many things, but if I were to play a game I could think of even more.

I don't have black & white myself (due to the fact that my PC wouldn't run it if I did)

However, Shoot-'em-ups seem to have influenced the way I act in some situations. No I don't go round places with a real gun shooting anything that moves!

On my brothers birthday, I went with him and a couple of his friends to Quaser (OR combat Zone as it's called in Cardiff). When I was in there, with my gun, I felt as if I really was in a videogame! I was hiding behind platforms, dodging the other teams fire, and I was shooting the bases plenty of times! And because I've had practise in shoot-'em-ups, I won by almost 100,000 points!

Whereas the first time I went there, I came last! And that was before I had ever played Goldeneye and other FPS's

Ok, I admit it. I'm obsessed with videogames....

Does anyone else have any more views on this topic?

If you have Black and White, what does your current hand show?

I mean, games can show who we can be and how we think towards diffrent situations. They really can teach us something in ourselves, even in a situation which is unlikly to happen, such as throwing a rock at a house in Black and White. This proably would not happen but would we actually do what we would do on the game in real life? Really it is just a game, isnt it?
