well it's true in the place i work. We have 15 year olds but they work on the shop floor. This boy had been working on shop floor since he was 15 and as soon as he turned 16 he came to checkouts!

I dont think this is true, I work in Tesco and some people on checkouts are only 15, or have been when they started.

As long as you have a National Insurance number, which you get a little before your 15th birthday, then I dont think it matters.

It might be a quirk of being Scottish though, we get all the good stuff, like 12am licences for pubs as standard :D

Yeah you have to be 18 to work in a bar, and you have to be 18 to sell alcohol in supermarkets and 16 to work on tills...
