I was thinking about this last night and i think that gaming will take quite a big step up. With Microsoft, Nintendo, and sony to bring out a console within the forth coming year. I think that games will dramatically improove.
Because all the Manufacturers know that the competition is stiff they will make sure that they bring out some good quality games to compete, so which ever new console you buy over the next year i am sure you and many others will not be disappointed with your choice as this banter between the companies and release dates seems to be working in our favour.

Also, with Microsoft now entering the frame, there's even more competition, which means companies will be pushed harder, which should mean better games for all of us to enjoy!!
This is another reason why console wars is not such a bad thing.

Once the Gamecube is released and X-Box, Sony can not afford to release poor games (Fantavision comes to mind). Is the 128 bit generation now, developers know they have to come up with a great story line and to make sure the graphics are nothing short of excellent.
I’m not too sure how far the graphics can keep improving though, if you would tell me the graphics will be like they are now in the days of mega Drive I would suggest you seek help. So, who knows what the graphics will be like in 10 years time? Maybe they will be so real, you can not tell if it’s a video footage or gaming.
