OK. Let's talk. Someone tell me what the latest Ghlibi film is. I have a wad of bills burning a hole in my pocket. ;D

It's a gentle kids film about two girls befreinded by a wood spirit when their mother is in hospital. It's about their fears of a new and different place and their dealing with it from a kids point of view. One girl gets lost and the sister has to look for her? How much more plot development do you need in a kids film?

Yes, I am. Well, the original anyway.

I got given a copy of the whole lot way before they started coming out here. But most are old dubs or just badly subtitled, so I haven't watched them all...

More than that.

It seems rather lacklustre compared to all the other movies.

Saw Howl again yesterday. I hadn't seen it all the way through in one sitting before.

Beautiful film, great story too. Next is Nausicaa, but then I need to buy more of the DVDs before I can watch any more.

Only have:
Nausicaa
Totoro (US version with only the dub)
Mononoke
Spirited Away (in English and in Spanish)
Howl's Moving Castle.

Better get some more!

I love Nausicaa. Kiki's is pretty awesome too even with the Kirsten Dunst dub urgggh.

Yep. They used to have it on Sci-fi at about 5am.

I remember that. God that was dumb, anime fans might be able to manage 7am, but definitely not 5am. They could have doubled their ratings if they had it on at a realstic time. tbh I dont think anyone saw it, perhaps just record it.

Indeed.

In other anime news I managed to get hold of all of Aeon Flux for a tenner.

Ordered the Oedo 808/Tokyo something bundle last night along with Excel Saga 1-5.

Both are from the states and both are supposedly 'region free'. Are anime DVDs usually region free then?
