In terms of presents, I couldn't have been happier!
I took the day off School (who wouldn't on their Birthday!!) and woke-up to find over £500 in cash and cheques within all those cards I had piled-up on the table (I have a huge familly you see - several second-marriages and uncles and aunites I've never met before)! :D
But that wasn't the best part... I opened a small box to find a set of car keys (OH YES!!), and I was taken outside to be told that the silver Ford Escort that had appeared on our drive while I was at work over the weekend was actually MINE - and I'd never suspected a thing!! :D
Don't ask me what size engine it has, or which model it is, precisely, as I'm no Tim Taylor when it comes to cars! All I know is that it's 8-years-old; I'm only the second person to have owned it; my mum got it "dirt-cheap" of the same guy who got her 'Focus cheap; it has a sun-roof; and... it's silver.
I'm gonna have to pay for the Insurance, though, which costs £900-a-year, under my dad's name (would've been £1,500 with myself as the main holder).
Only problem is that I can't drive it yet! :(
I've got the L-plates; I'm still learning to drive; but we're waiting for this form to come through so it can be taxed and insured.
I love it, though! :D
(And I laugh at people like phi11ip who can drive, but don't have their own cars! ;D )
What else did I get?
A little bobbled-head of Mario to go in the rear window...
The Office: Series 1 on DVD - FINALLY!
2 CD's - QotSA's `Songs for the Deaf` (which I'm listening to now), and American Hi-Fi's new album: `The Art of Losing` (which I also like).
And that's about it! None of that cheap, useless cack that I have no space for, either (PHEW!)!
Why did I not go to School yesterday?
Well, I woke-up feeling awful - like you would after clycling home from work on Sunday, knackered, only to find a surprise party awaiting you at home. Although, I didn't really drink too much (I'm not one for getting totally drunk, you see - I don't see the point!). It was just having my hyperactive little 8-year-old nephew running around; on spoon-fulls of sugar, with his high-pitched voice... That's what really killed me!
But I enjoyed it - especially as I missed another day of School! :)
But I shouldn't gone in with coursework due in for 4-weeks-time...
I'm gonna book myself a Theory Test for next-month, and try and get myself a full-license before the end of May! Nothing's gonna stop me, now!!
So i get £10 from her and loads of presents from my mum and dad, normally from friends i get about £20...
£500, you sure have a huge family...
I got £20 last birthday.
And a cake.
My sister got like... £50 for her 18th.
Guess i'll get the same.
Wish I had a massive family that spoilt me and expected nothing in return.
Nope, I have a small family that expects more from me than I get off them.
Damn you all.
Silly rich people.
I guess it would have to be some more smart media for my digital camera...
Then at about 10/11 my parents started giving me presents etc.
Only small things though.
Lucky gits, the lot of you.
If last year was anything to go by, I'll get pretty much what I ask for. Almost nothing.
a plasma ball which rocks...
And a load of other bits and pieces...
> Christ, I'm 18 this year. That's disturbing. I'll no longer be
> breaking the law every weekend.
Yes you will, to hire a hooker isn't an 18+ thing, it's always illegal.
