Are Microsoft holding Halo back PURELY to catch the end of the first year of subscriptions?
I mean, was the initial userbase of LIVE THAT much???

They'd be better off selling more Xbox's by getting the game out quickly (BEFORE Christmas over here) and getting more subscriptions THAT way!

Why bother with KOTOR, RAW 2, Amped 2, RalliSport 2, Max Payne 2, Swat Global Strike, Counter Strike XB, GTA Double Pack, Dead or Alive online, Deus EX 2... etc released before Christmas?

I think it has to do with the fact that they don't want it to coincide with the release of Half Life 2 on the PC as well, two huge FPSs being released within months of each other could and would get very messy, its wiser financially to space both games out.....shame really.

wow - its a shame there are so many sequels and ports for the Xbox instead of new concepts. still, can't really complain if the sequels are to max payne and deus ex.

Innovation is good once in a while. Thats why I am a huge fan of my Cube and Nintendo. However what I really want is more of the same from games I have tried, tested and loved in the past. Good examples of this are (as you stated) Max Payne 2, Deus Ex 2 and a favourite of mine Dead or Alive online. I don't need innovation on a constant basis when quality like this is around. Viewtiful Joe and XIII should be good enough in that department for me.

Indeed. Although as many have stated, Petter Molyneux said the same things about Black and White and I for one was far less than satisfied with the final product. By the looks of things though this could turn out to be quite a little gem.
