Playstation2,Without a Doubt. The graphics are better.
I think both are alright, I have to admit, I do hate the Xbox controllers, and that includes the 'improved' S version. The PS2 controller has a much better layout and feel to it. I have to say, the Gamecube controller is a nice one, it just seems to fit perfectly for gaming. The Xbox generally looks nastier than the PS2, but then again, the PS2 is hardly the nicest looking piece of kit. I don't really care about the online capabilities of either machine, so they don't win any points from me there. The Xbox games DO look better running on an Xbox, out of the lot of consoles, the PS2 doesn't quite look a sharp.
But once again, at the end of the day, it comes down to games. The games I want to play tend to be PS2 and Gamecube. So for me, those two are the best consoles. I don't care about statistics, units sold, what games are coming out on what and what hype is where. I've decided on what suits my needs best. Plus theres no point in me harping on to someone else about what I think is the best, because what floats my boat may not float theirs. My mate loves his Xbox, and fair play to him, if that does it for him then no doubt that is the best console. The entire thing is subjective, and therefore ends up with people bickering away for AGES at each other over it.

i mean don't you think it would be a bit one sided?
personnaly i don't get an xbox because:
too big will not fit where i would like it to go
controller too big (bigger isn't always better)
cannot be placed verticaly and not block vents
memory cards go into controller (dreamcast all over agian)
limeted edition xbox looks worse than the original
dvd needs a kit costing £10
no extra usb ports or i-link ports meaning xbox goods only
games like vice city come out later on xbox
no skateboards,
no fighting arena,
no footie shootout things,
no eyetoy,
travel tv is 1.2" smaller than PS2's and same price,
controller are £5 more,
and even SR think the same because they have given:
2 pages in last mag to xbox
2 pages " " " " gamecube
and guess what...
3 PAGES IN LAST MAG TO PS2
xbox had 3 reveiws in last mag PS2 had 7
(are we seeing a pattern?)
free gifts (in mag)

PS2 = 6
and after all this xbox is cheaper, has hardrve, doesn't need network adaptor, and has cheaper memory cards, 4 ports etc
so ps2 must be the best! (console wise)

If you already have a PS2, why would you need to fork out more money for another DVD playback kit anyway?

With the improved graphics, smoother pace and the space you can save with memory, it's worth waiting for I think. Admitedly I had GTA for my PS2 first, but that's because I never new an X-Box versions would be released. As soon as the X-Box versions were released I traded my PS2 versions for them.

The majority of EXCLUSIVES that I can name for the Playstation 2 aren't even worth owning to make it look like you've got a larger collection of games.

The fact I knock both thumbs together if I move the left analogue stick to the right, and the right analogue stick to the left is enough for me to class it as poor design.

The fact I knock both thumbs together if I move the left analogue stick to the right, and the right analogue stick to the left is enough for me to class it as poor design.
