Considering thst cigaretes and alcohol are the two most dangerous drugs in the world, more dangerous than the illegal ones, it would be wise to stop talking them.
I was watching some programme about drugs a while back and its really strange. Around one person a month dies from taking ecstacy yet around 100 die a DAY(!) from smoking. You would expect then that smoking should be the one that is against the law, and not taking Es.
Im gonna sould like some teacher or dad here but there really is no point to smoking.

Actually I gave up about 15 years ago. I went without any cigaretted at all for a whole year, which prevented me from going back to smoking regularly.
For the past 10 years or so I have had the occassional cigarette but now I'm not smoking any more at all.
It's difficult to say why people smoke. It's an addiction that seems to be more difficult to kick if you are in the company of people who smoke, or if you are under stress.
I would say that it is pier pressure which is most responsible for starting people. Lots of kids think it is cool.
