I bought a UK one hoping to use it on both my UK and US Xboxes. I tried it in the US one but it said my US DVD's were an invalid region. I tried a UK R2 DVD in the US machine and it worked.
I'm guessing a US-bought remote would let you play R1 DVDs in your UK Xbox, meaning instead o hunting down the ever-elusive DVD Region X disc, you could just buy a US remote.
Can anyone confirm this? I'm about to order a US remote anyway as I need it to watch my R1 DVDs with.
Can ne1 recommend batteries?
Answer - If you've already played Region 2 on it then that method won't work. Only option is to get your Xbox chipped.
"No... there is... another" in Yoda voice.
Basically, you can software hack it, but that is neither cheap nor easy. You need a PC, a network card and patch cable, a copy of Agent Under Fire or Mechassault for the Xbox, a Datel Mega Memory USB for the Xbox, an internet account and FTP+IRC software, some patience, and a list of instructions. The last one I can provide, but for the other stuff you're on your own. Cost can be zero if you use Game's handy 10-day return policy for AUF and the Mega Memory, but the big problem here is patience.
Havn't got theese instructions as I got this information from another forum site, basically copying and pasting, however this information could prove usefull and indicates there is a another way to do it with the right equipment. Dont know if it's true or not, but I will try and find out more information regarding theese instructions and post any information on this matter.

Quite what that has to do with my original post I don't know.
