What kind of crap idea is that?

What worries me even more though, is probably players of that game will pay to get into the 'virtual club' and spend the rest of their night making their character dance next to vaguely female looking characters while sipping on a dash of shandy.

Playing things like WoW yeah, but starting to turn it into an "alternative to real life"?

Please...

And the winner of this months' Saddist git on the planet award goes to the new owner of a virtual space station - dear lord, whatever next, instead of investing in a virtual nightclub, why not invest in a real life!

The type of crap idea you'll wish you though of first, as the guy rolls around in his millions. Fact is, this type of thing can
be successful. If people want to spend cash on virtual property, I wish I was on the receiving end of it....

I suppose it can't be an impossible concept if you think about it, because at the end of the day us gamers are prepared to spend £30 on a disk which might have cost 50p to make, package and box. Pro Evo 5 for example isn't a real football game, but people are still willing to spend a lot of money on the virtual version, just a thought.

There's a slight difference between paying £30 to kick a virtual ball around and paying $100k for a virtual piece of property...

The guy who bought it will probably reap the rewards in the future.

But, it's a club, online, a club - how can you get any enjoyment out of that? It's like detracting the player completely from the outside world.

What are chat forums? Simplistic methods of anonymously socializing.
MMORPGS are online worlds some people already pay to be part of.
Why not virtual clubs? If this site was 3d, would you refuse to be part of it as it distracts you from RL?

Why are you in fact here in the first place? Go meet real people and share real opinions.

It’s escapism, plain and simple.

But yet that $100k might be seen as a suberb investment, if he makes 100 times that with advertising rights.

The coolest ISP ever!
In my opinion, the ISP is the best I have ever used. They guarantee 'first time connection - everytime', which they have never let me down on.
Easy and free service!
I think it's fab that you provide an easy-to-follow service, and even better that it's free...!
