There will always be sick jokes, I'm sure psychologically some of these are reactions to fear: it's more fun to laugh than have an event make you think about your own mortality and that's where a lot of these jokes come from in my opinion.
They're diversions from hard truths, but to take them away would be wronger still than actually making them (in my opinion). :S

I agree with you, unfortunately. Although, it is too soon in my opinion - There's people still out there.
