It's just I want to enjoy this game as I have spent all the money I have available on it.

Currently a Dwarve, but the seamless loading time thing is killing my computer.

OddToe, start as what you like the look most of. I personally loved the Night Elf starting place. You're coming across a little Crossbob to be honest. Each class has their strengths and weaknesses. Pick one and just go for it. I've been a Tauren Hunter for 6 and a half days now (156 hours play)

I hate the Night Elf starting place, the colours hurt my head.

I quite like the Human starting place, ye olde medieval forrest theme.

What race would you recommend me to start as?

I'm sure SHEEPY or someone will escort you to IF. It's quite a distance but I find the dwarf/human areas much better than the elf area so it's worth it.

I'm wandering the forest slaying animals and collecting weird crap. Just wanted to know if I could venture into new lands where it wasn't so dark, and gloomy.

I started on an owl creature thing, and it killed me.
