Gamecube seems to be gathering dust, and I've been mildly impressed by some of the XBOX game adverts I've seen. Hence am potentially in the market.
Questions though - is it worth it if I own a high-spec PC?
Can I get 'normal' shaped controllers (the ones I've used are chunky, and gay)?
Why does it have memory card slots on the controllers if it has a hard-drive?
Thanks,
IB
Maybe the graphics are a bit better, but who cares when the controls are such a load of ass and the online section is nowhere near as good.
2) Fable is crap

Rainbow Six is better on the PC, but I think it works well on Xbox for the main reason that you can use voice, same with pandora - it rocks over live because it requires teamwork using zhe headset.
Project Gotham Racing 2
Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow
Ninja Gaiden
and Pro Evo 4
The above are going to be THE five games to own after this year is out. All superb, especially on Live if you plan to get it; I can assure you it is wonderful.
But yeah, them. And get S controllers, like you I hate uber-chunky ones. Even though the Cube controllers are better than any other console controller on the market.
And if you like RPG's, get KoTOR as well.

I have the starter kit, still not set it up yet though.

There's too many games that are great to list

PCs & Xboxs are completly different things

Xboxs now come with "controler s" i think it's called. a smaller designed pad for people who can't handle a big manly stick

so you can swap game saves with mates etc. Also, can't remember what it's called but you can buy another card that you can download all kinds of saves from an internet site and upload them onto your card and then into your xbox (cheats, maps, all levels etc) :-)

Have you got Live?
Halo is better on Xbox. Might not look quite as good, might not have the rocket launcher and might not officially have online multiplayer, but you can do split screen multiplayer and co-op. Which is worth it.
My list of five musts:
Halo
PGR2
Crimson Skies
Fable
Ninja Gaiden
Most likely Halo 2 will better Halo. What kind of games would you want? For FPS and racing games the Xbox is the clear leader, it has loads of both and many are great.
The other reason for the controller slots is that is where you plug the microphone for Xbox Live in. Also, five is far too restrictive. I tried to give a decent cross section.
