I watched Broken Arrow recently and it got me in the mood for some 90's action films. Everything now seems to rely on rubish computer effects too much and I want something a little older before the CGI took off. Stuff like Broken Arrow, The Rock, Face/Off. Anyone got any recomendations?

You can't go far wrong with the Die Hard films (reference to dead man with a .... bulge) and the legendary Rambo trilogy

Both are legendary, last quite a bit and have your usual amusing assides mixed with bad-ass villians and anti-heroes.

They wrote the book on action films basically

Jaws is also quite action packed if somewhat behind our time in terms of SFX

It's about as cheesy as a film can get, but it's fantastic.

90's action? Sounds to me like you need some JCVD. (No, not Jesus Christ's Venereal Disease) Jean Claude Van Damne.

Bloodsport and Kickboxer aren't terrible, but not really action movies.

Timecop was on BBC3 last night, and that's pretty cheesy.

Sudden Death was quite fun, as was Death Warrant...

I've -still- not seen that. They always show the 600th sequels or something late on BBC but that seems about it.
