Around 200,000 teenagers are to receive £100 bonuses this week, under a government scheme which rewards them for continuing in education.
... had good enough attendance and effort levels last term to pick up the extra payments, which will be repeated in July and December.

So, on top of the £30 means tested "allowance", they get a bonus for simply turning up? Way to spend our money, jackasses.

Good point.
But I think the answer's pretty obvious.
I applied for the £100 today
Don’t see why I won’t get it.
Don’t hate me.
but then thats just me.
Anyway i've got myself sorted. Signed up for the
Army Foundation College, so that gives me £13,000 a year
and I get qualifications.
one downside.
now I gotta spend 4 years in the army
It's aim is good, to keep kids in school.
Giving them £30 is not an incentive, it's easy money to spend on drink.
Surely it's unfair to the people already at college (like myself) who stayed on; do we get a reward/incentive?
Obviously not.
Pay it into the a school budget for kids, or something. Oh no, give it to bored teenagers....

Yes, but FFF said
'if all they wanted was the money, should they really be there'
If a student only went to college to get the money, rather than learn, then they'd earn more by working in McDonald's

Whether I would or not is another matter.
