"Cross country"

It's a git. Today I had cross country, 7 laps of the school field which is approx. 6000m in all. Not massive but still painful and there is no chance to walk because the teachers can always see you. It hurts and I was wearing two tops whilst running it. I came exactly midway which isn't too bad but I know I could have done better.

You'll wake up one day and hate what you see in the mirror. That's what made me get back into shape.

When I were a lad, in Cornwall, we had proper cross country. Down the town on the pavement wearing football boots, into the lower town "moor", through muddy paths, across a river (which you had to run through to prove that you were reet 'ard), up a hill which went on for about a mile and then through the industrial estate (still uphill), finally turning into the school again for a short sprint to the line.

I come about 20th.

We don't do it anymore. It was only yrs 7-9.

Got bored of the whole playing football at break and went more for the eating and sitting about.

Downhill slope.

What happened, increased pocket money?

I'm in year 10 and I came 48th too.

In year 8 I came 7th in the year. In year 10 I came 48th.

Cross country. What else?

School champ?

At what?
