There's a film on the Hallmark channel sometimes, called "Dead in a Heartbeat". It "stars" Judge Reinhold as a cop chasing a rogue surgeon who placed bombs in his patient's pacemakers (no, seriously!). Best bit was the old schoolteacher with a heart-bomb - they had to evacuate the school, and then she went KABOOM, making Reinhold all messy and bloody, like he's just emerged a fully-clothed adult from the womb!

Apparantly if the chip is fitted with a small bomb, which, if the chip cannot detect a pulse, it explodes - destroying the arm.

What a great idea. Imagine if they done that with supermarkets, they could have a large scanner that you walk through which could scan your groceries and then bill it to the chip in your arm.
