Think about it. Harrison Ford is 62 now, not exactly sprightly any more. And while I didn't see Catch Me If You Can (which is apparently quite good), most of Spielberg's latest attempts have been ruined by overly sappy endings, desperate to inject an unnecessary dose of saccharin into otherwise interesting stories. I can't see it working.

Seeing as it apparently now won't begin until Spielberg's finished his next three projects, it'll be at least 3 years til it comes out. Does anyone actually want it? It'll be sacriligeous memory-rape of Lucas-esque proportions if Indy IV turns out to be a doddery old dump.

Go on, someone start an online petition saying we don't want it anymore. Maybe 5 years ago, but not now.

I saw What Lies Beneath on TV the other day and this exact question came across my mind - then, he might just have pulled it off. Now? He's just to old, regardless of what they might say about it not being an age specific character, no-one wants to see a slightly farcical sight of a man in his mid-60's trying to do action films.

As Tiltawhirl said, why ruin a superb original trilogy? The ending of Last Crusade was a superb finale, I don't think anyone who loved the first three would want their memories tarnished by a fourth that didn't meet those standards.

When it was first announced/rumoured, I thought it was the best news ever, but a few years have past and things aren't happening, apart from Ford getting old and craggy.

Do we really want Indy to be that old looking and miserable? Nope.

I'd like them to forget about making a fourth, and just let us all have happy memories of Indiana Jones as he was in the 80's, not ruin our memories of three great adventure films by making the main hero into some greying old codger.

A bit like this possible new Goonies sequel. Just leave it Spielberg.

First - Classic Spielberg
Second - Good, but the screetching harpie gets on my t'ts after a while.
Third - Dump.

Indiana Jones and the.......oh god, please let me die for pitys sake.I'm so tired.

I've heard rumors that the fourth movie may hand involve Jones's son, who's approx 12-14. (hammers nails into side of head, while wearing tight shoes)

I heard they weren't thinking of hiring Sean Connery for the new Indianna Jones film anyway because Harrison Ford had aged too much to realistically look like his son. Seriously, he's passed his sell by date. Way, past it.

I want it, but I want a good sequal and don't think I'll get it. Still worth a shot though. I really didn't like The Temple Of Doom though.
