The "Freeola Customer Forum" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
I'll start, just list anything you like, afterall this could turn out to be quite a decent thread for getting "Program reccomendations".
1. Mozilla Firefox - Probably the most advanced web browser ever, fast and easy to use. Excellent!
2. MSN Messenger - I cannot live without this, I have to communicate with people, and this seems the best way to do so.
3. mIRC - For those "file" getting needs (totally legal, yup).....
4. Winamp - This is probably the best multimedia playing app I have seen, it's fast and easy, and very very versatile. Highly reccomended as an alternative to WMP.
5. Nero - Awesome CD Burner, has lots of features.
6. AVG Antivirus - Seeing as I have a Windows system, it's best I keep myself protected, and this beast of a checker does exactly what it says on the tin.
7. Kazaa Lite - Obviously to get music from those budding underground artists....
8. Dev C++ - For my C programming requirements, this program is apt enough.
9. WinRAR - I have to do a lot of copmpression, and this beast of a compresser is excellent for my needs!
10. ExpressPCB - Excellent little Circuit Designer.

I'll give Firefox a go, what do you mean by my firewall is oblivious to webpage popups? It stops them if I enable the setting, but I dont.

I bet you also moan about the monopoly Microsoft has. Ignorance is bliss, isn't it.

When someone creates a top-10 list of software it is generally assumed that for every entry in that list the person can produce at least some justification as to why that application could be considered better than others of its type. The purposes of threads like these is to spread knowledge and use of good software.
AVG 7 - Free Anti virus program
Adaware - Removes spyware
IE
iTunes - For all my music needs
WINSCP - Used to allow me to upload/download to and from my uni hard disk space and webspace
WinRAR
Outlook Express
MSN
Firefox - Did use netscape as an extra browser for uni work but this one seems better
Style XP - Just discovered I had this and decided to play around with it, quite useful

Have you ever used tabbed browsing or mouse gestures? Does IE give you the option on startup to resume all previously loaded sessions, so that if your browser crashes you can effortlessly pick up where you left off? Can Opera or Firefox wipe directories just because you clicked on a link? The main reason I use Opera/Firefox is because IE is the internets version of cancer, but arguing that Opera/Firefox don't offer anything over IE is ludicrous.

Your firewall is oblivious of web page popups.

That'll all change when longhorn is finally released. Unlike Moz/Firefox, IE6 is the last standalone browser MS will ever produce, there will be NO IE7 unless you upgrade to the next OS where you will discover that M$ have decided to intergrate IE into the OS as part of Longhorn.

The point is there's no need to get a better web browser. I'm sure there are loads that are better than IE, but what's the point, what I use works, I've had no problems with it. If I ever did, I may track down something different, but at the moment, I feel no need to.
People are always going to use IE, no couple of people would change that.

Well how can i put Mozilla in my top ten when i've never used it? I can't. IE works, and is probably the most usefull, so it goes into the top ten.
