"What's your recent DVD purchase?"

Before DVDs came along there was VHS. I never bought a single movie on VHS, my brother only bought 3 (SE Star Wars) and my younger brother about 10 (a mix of 80ies films like Planes, Trains & Automobiles and Red Dwarf).

But now we seem to buy DVDs all the time, collectively we have just under 200 DVDs now and we buy atleast 1 DVD a week as a family. (we used to rent a lot but we dont anymore and the nearest cinema is 30 minutes drive away). I guess it is good news for the television and film industries. Anyone else noticed that they're buying more DVDs than they did VHS?

My recent DVD purchase was Donnie Darko Prism Edition. At a very nice price of £4.99 to encourage those who wouldnt have bought the film otherwise, despite having no special features. It's a very interesting and unusual film nothing like I've seen before.

I also pre-ordered a DVD boxset. Most of you are too young and would probably confuse it with the awful Matt LeBanc movie that came out years ago. It's the Lost In Space Series 1 boxset. 8 DVDs, 31 episodes, a collective running time of 23 hours and 42 minutes (possible marathon attempt?) At a nice price of £39.99 "DANGER! DANGER WILL ROBINSON!!"

Anyone else buy anything on DVD lately?

At the moment I'm eyeing up the complete R1 set of Dilbert for £17.99...

got bad boys 2 on monday and will be pinching a copy of finding nemo tomorrow at work. after that its nothing till matrix revolutions comes out.

I too have bought a load of DVDs where as VHS I never bothered with. Going to get Finding Nemo and possibly Bad Boys 2. Also want to get the 24 boxsets as Amazon have them at £25 and £30. Also wouldnt mind Dark Angel boxsets which are the same price as 24. Also get Alias Season 2 when thats out.

I need to get some Buffy, Friends and Angel DVDs. In that order. I have 2 Friends DVDs that I've watched to death and an old Buffy VHS that only has like 3 episodes on it or somethign so I'm sick to death of it already. I need to build up my box set collection. I am still waiting for Cabin Fever to come out though *goes in huff*

Today I picked up The French Connection 1 and 2, Gangs Of New York and Bad Boys 2.

Watched Bad Boys 2 just before, still decent. It'll be days before I watch the others.

Volumes 1,2,3,4,5 & 6 of the Zoids: Chaotic Century anime... I stopped short of ordering the remaining 6 volumes in case I got hit for customs. The whole thing, including shipping, stung me £35 quid.
