"Sparkling when playing Doom 3?"

I’ve just bought Doom 3.

I have a P4 3.2 GHZ, 512 RAM with a 9800x radeon card.

All in all, an ok machine.

Anyway, when I’m playing Doom 3, I keep getting white specs on the screen, some to the point where it makes the game unplayable. Sometimes the specs are red dots.

I’m no wizard when it comes to computers, so is there anything I can do to rid the small white dots?

Seems like a graphic card problem?

Any simple solution. Does the 1.1 patch sort this out? Any simple soloution?

This is frustrating and wrecking my enjoyment of this game.

The driver update won't stop the problem, I just meant for general performance increase which the 4.12 will give, massively. I don't know anyone who would download a new video card driver just to play one game and then remove it.

Sounds like a faulty card, how long have you had the card?

Yep I HATE updating the ATI drivers, the number of reboots in insane esp. because I have the ATI multimedia centre as well, the VIVO drivers are a right pain in the behind...)

Problem solved. All I did was download the new drivers, like that guy said. Cheers.
