Too true, The Simpsons game was excellent.

The Xmen 4 player arcade machine with the really long cabinet was also badass.

I have fond memories of:

Cabal
Operation Wolf
Chase HQ
Outrun
Smash TV
Ivan Ironmans Super Off-Road
Golden Axe
R-Type

to name just a few...


That was when arcades meant something. When you could go in with a few 10p's and rule the arcade as well as being held in awe by the other kids.

Nowadays you slap a quid in the slot, have about 5-10 minutes and it's all over.

I remember completing Cabal with 10p once.

Happy days...

It's been too long since I played on some arcades.


I remember some weird Sonic one in some place in London, it was years ago.

The controls were a massive ball that you had to roll and a few actions buttons. It was good.
