But then there's Geography, which my friend calls 'Standard Grade / Higher colouring in'

What do you think?

I love the fact I got a 2 in Standard Grade English and then I was only 1 of 6 in my year to get a A in Higher

The SG (Standard Grade) system works on

Credit (Great) Grade 1 or 2
General (Average) Grade 3 or 4
Foundation (Fools) Grade 5 or 6
Fail Grade 7.

Thats like your GCSE's.

Intermediate 1 and 2 are like SG's and GCSE's, however, they are graded differently

Int 2 A = Better than a 1
Int 2 B = Roughly a 1
Int 2 C = Roughly a 2

Int 1 A = Better than a 3
Int 1 B = Roughly a 3
Int 1 C = Roughly a 4

You do these if a) you're meant to be doing Standard Grade's but your not or if you're b) meant to be doing Highers (A Levels) but your stupid or starting the course without doing the SG.

There is something called Access 3 which is the same except on Foundation level.

Higher is graded A to E I believe, as is Advanced Higher (I believe). A to C are passes, D is sometimes a 'school pass' where you get an A in the level below because you marginally missed the C pass mark and E is a fail.

So it's basically

Standard Grade Foundation
Access 3
Standard Grade General
Int 1
Standard Grade Credit
Int 2
Higher
Advanced Higher

All over 3 years (S4,S5 and S6)
