This is the question I ask myself the most.
The answer is never clear.
I always arrive at the same conclusion that I haven't got the faintest idea who I really am.
But this is okay. Because being "lost" and plagued with self-doubt is probably more interesting anyway.
[?]
I then get to thinking about who I want to be - who I want to become.
I attempt to answer seriously, but in the end I fail - I only want to be "he who I am", but who the hell am I?
So just for the hell of it I then ask myself a further question: "If I was somebody else who would I be?"
The everchanging answers come as east as pie.
Today I'd be Mister Ben.
I mean, that guy can turn a normal stroll to the shops into a heroic adventure.
Call in at the Fancy Dress shop, try on a costume, look in the mirror, and then get sucked-off by the all-knowing shop assistant - into a place where c*ck-and-bull fantasy becomes fact.
No need of videogames for him. I envy that wobbly cartoon.
So just for the hell of it: IF YOU WERE SOMEBODY ELSE WHO WOULD YOU BE?
[Note: this is my gratuitous attempt at a popular post.]
*shakes head*
If you were you, genetically, but were raised by someone different to those who did raise you, would you still be the same person you are today?

Very deep for that time on a morning. Probably not as my values / morals / attitudes etc. are copied at a basic level from my parents. Very basic example - my father doesn't swear, my mother did but not so much in my fathers presence. I, as a result, actually swear very little and have been known to walk away from people who cannot string sentences together unless they contain several 'f' words. I know that very basic but hope you get the general idea.
If I could be anyone - I'd be Rogue from the X-men (the cartoon version not the wimpy lass from the films). That way I could fly without messing up my hair AND look great in a catsuit.

I don't think I would be RADICALLY different, but certainly there would be a lot of things different. As you learn in sociology, the way things are affect you. You could be a different person if you'd made friends with *whoever* instead of *whoever* back in primary school. With different parents, a different family, different house, different friends... you could be quite different yourself. It wouldn't mean a change between being good and evil, but your beliefs and values could be very strange.

*incoming abstract answer*
My swallow waters would be different, but my deep waters would be the same.
