Top stories (in order), as reported on Radio One this morning:

Celtic lose UEFA Cup final to Porto 3-2
Matrix Reloaded premiere a success - Keanu Reeves signs autographs
Earthquake in Algeria, 500+ dead

In that order. I despair, I really do.

Heh, made me laugh. The sad thing is it could actually happen, if it were a much less high-profile thing than Cancer.

Exactly. If I had my way I'd make the royal family live in a council house in the middle of Brixton.

And they'll dispense it only in really diluted form in coke, and you'll have to drink loads of the stuff to stop it at a simple charge of ony £15 per bottle.

Then they'll open the Coca Cola dentistry, specialising in teeth that have been rotted to death with cancer treatments.

Yeah, just sending the Royal family into a relatively rich home (by an ordinary person's standard) will still save the British tax payers millions.

Not the public... We should make the government pay for it.
Either that or take away all the tax money that goes to the Queen and use that.

IMO, research should be paid for by the public, all anonymous to keep impartiality if and when it's required.

I hate the idea of research sponsored by corporate biggies, especially if it's for it's own good. For example, there was something in the news recently about how passive smoking isn't that bad for your health, and as I saw this, I told my mum, "I bet this is sponsored by the tobacco companies." And sure enough, the reporter said it was sponsered by them shortly after.

Whoever does find the cure will surely go down in medical history.

Or judging by today's world, Vodafone or Coca Cola will probably sponsor some scientists and we'll get the 'Vodafone Cancer Repellent' or the 'Coca Cola Cancer Antibody'
