There once was a time when you could click on a few threads and read about films that you probably weren't aware of, and you'd then go rent them, and realise they were good.

Many a time have I rented a film suggested to me by other members of the forums, and more often than not, they've been worth seeing.

But now, those threads just don't seem to exist.

I don't get why, people still watch movies, don't they?

So come on folks, recommend a film you've seen lately. I'm not talking about those big blockbuster movies that everyone will know, but those hidden delights, which they only have one copy of in Blockbuster.

I haven't rented much lately, but thought that 'Frailty' was great for a bit of murder, and religious wacko stuff. Well, I liked it.

So, what would you recommend?

Arlington Road.

Jeff Bridges and Tim Robbins, with a bit of Joan Cusack as well.

Very good. I won't say too much more because I don't want to spoil it. Just don't watch it when you're too tired, because you need to think while you watch it.

I bought that one last time you recommended it!

Fantastic movie, plus I reckon it was only £6.99 at the time. Bargain.

*broken record*

Rules of Attraction
Donnie Darko
Way of the Gun
Adaptation

Am now waiting for Christie Malry's Own Double-Entry, not a porno, rather a film about book-keeping. Seriously.

Rules of Attraction might just be showing at Cineworld now...

Yep, but only at 9.10. That's awkward babysitting wise, as it'll be past midnight that I get home.

No Adaptation either.

Donnie Darko's out to rent now though, isn't it....?

Yes, it should be.

I'll looking forward to that as well. Ever since I decided a plain old Law degree was boring and I'd have to do a "with Accounting" one I've been searching for something even approaching interesting about the subject. This maybe it - and in good time too, Advance Financial Accounts module in Spetember. Which will be hell.

K-Pax is out to buy now.

Haven't seen it myself, but really want to.

Glad you liked Arlington Road :-) Did you spot the twist at the end. I didn't, and the end really shocked me. I just kind of sat there for a few minutes, probably looking like a right knob...

Couldn't you have re-worded that. Tut tut, and you want to be a writer!

Some cool, fairly old but still availible (£2 for 3 nights) films are:-

(John Carpenters) Vampires
The Last Castle (If you haven't seen, go and rent it now, fast!)
Urban Legend (The first one, the sequel sucks)
Dog Soldiers (English movie starring little known actors. Amazing)

I am sure there are many more, cant see my video rack from where I am sitting though.
