"European Player of the year award"

Owen, Zidane, Ronaldo, Rivaldo and Figo have all won the European Player of the year award before, now will one of these players be the first person to win it more than once? Marco Van Basten is the only player to have achieved this and he won it three times.

50 European-based players are in the running for this year’s award, but the ones I have listed are the favourites to win with Ronaldo being the bookies number 1 choice.

Now I know these are all great players, but in the last year none of them have been playing consistently enough at their 'peek' to merit a win. So who actually deserves this year's award?

Your suggestions please.

yes you can have an opinion, but you dont seem to have them against man yoo players, im not a manc, i dont support man yoo but i can see that Nicky Butt 'is' a good player. he played well for Man Yoo end of last season, then he had a fantastic world cup for England and played very well till he got injured this season.

you put his name alongside other players you think are 'rubbish'? no, you put his along side some Man Yoo players.

You obviously haven't seen him play in any games other than the world cup, he is a ball winner, breaks up play - he does the job he is asked of efficiently most of the time.

Butt is a great football player so leave him and his hair colour alone.

Nicky Butt?

He's good player - did you watch the world cup or not?

Prejudice aside, Nicky Butt would be a good choice, he had a great world cup and played consistently well for Man Yoo end of last season and before he got injured this season.
