Now I know many think the series lost it's way in series 7 and 8, but the episodes of 8 that had the budget were actually very good, so a one off special sounds like it could work.
Anyway, the Official Red Dwarf site hasn't posted the news yet, but it does sound pretty definite.
Update:
3 episodes from 10-12th April.
Making of and outtakes/best of by Patrick Stewart.
Looking forward to the episodes on Dave next year.
Looks like we only have to wait until Easter for the new specials. The 'no-holds-barred' episode sounds an different idea, will be interested to see exactly how that pans out.
The Back To Earth storyline sounds interesting too. Can't wait.
How old does Chris Barrie look now? Also seems like he is back to being a hologram, be interesting to see how they work that one.
There is another image knocking about with the 4 of them standing outside the pub from Coronation Street but can't find a decent copy of it so far.
I'm going to have to watch them all through again before this one is on, aren't I?!
Pretty much going to be set on Earth after the ship is almost destroyed by the crew's own ineptitude and laziness. Should be an interesting show anyway. Sophie Winkelman is playing Rimmer's hologram replacement sent to annoy him.
Back To Earth is now a 3 part story (no unplugged special, it's been postponed) being shown on 10th April on Dave.
The DVD release is scheduled for 15th June.
I know they did in the books by staying on the reverse planet until Lister was young again, but how they will explain it is gonna be fun.
