But my poor student finances cannot fund one, and asking one for Christmas is a bit too much. So, price drop pre-christmas?

I'm not talking about the Reward Card - I'm talking about the new Gift Card, which is completely different.
Other people can credit your card with money, which you can then spend in Game.

Look back on the threads in this section for a post called "Hello from Tokyo" and contact phuzzy - he's over in Tokyo funnily enough and can ship them over :)

Or try a HMV gift card because they're not quite as bad as Game are.
Edit: and if you get it put on the HMV games card you get a better deal than with Game's awful point system.
It's still a new console, price drops will be at least a year away.
You could always import one, that makes it cheaper.
If you know anyone in japan, they are about £100 for a value pack there.
