It's for people who have a low budget/have no interest in Xbox Live.
But they still need to shell out around £20 for a memory card? Which seems harsh, then again PS2 owners have had to do it since it came out.

Just go for the deluxe. It will come down very soon (i.e. about £150 after easter). Anyway, whats the mad rush for the 360 anyway - the xbox is still going along fine?
