I did today when I was in Glasgow.

I hate phones and never use it so I thought I'd just give it away.

It had like £9 on it... he could sell it for something I suppose.

I always give them money... make me feel good about myself maybe... but better than walking past them surely.

Chances are the hobbo will spend all the top up on phoning the sex-line and when he's used all the credit he'll bash a passer by over the head with it and take the guys wallet

They can sell it to get a decent meal.

Tragedy is that it's more likely to have been sold for alcohol or drugs.

But still, nice gesture, he might use it to call someone and make his life better. A relative, an old friend. Who knows?

well my phone is so crap the tramp probably would have taken it as an insult and stabbed me or something!

do on to others as you would have them do onto you :D Although I doubt if I gave a homeless guy my mobile that he'd give me something back when he worked his way of the streets
