Iam getting that version as well. Want to own both as then I can either watch the extended version or the cinema version.

Go to a search engine such as Google and type in "DVD Multiregion button codes" as your search, with even your DVD Brand and model number next to that if you want, the result is thousands of Remote control codes for DVD Models. And it is 100% legal too.
Also got my copy of Resident Evil R1 on Friday and watched that on Saturday.

The American and European release of the LOTR on DVD is August 6th.
The same day!!, some places are in fact releasing the discs earlier than they are supposed to, August 6th is only Recommended date for the sale worldwide of the DVD. Check the American supermarket- www.walmart.com All Company Warehouse stockists in Europe though, should actually have had the Region 2 DVD since last week and are holding out for the August 6th date.
