Over the next week or so I will post a day by day account of my experiences of the Destiny Beta on PS4.
There's not a lot for me to say about the Beta apart from this is me right now.

Dear Diary,
This is not the start I was hoping for. In fairness to Bungie they did release the codes when they said they would. I was a little busy around 6pm however it wasn't long after that I checked my account and there they were. What happened after that can only be described as a farce.
Trying to log into the PSN Store to redeem the code was impossible. The damn page just wouldn't load. I checked PSN Support and found that the Store was reportedly "Intermittently available". It would appear that the boffins at Bungie, Activision and Sony had not adequately anticipated a surge in traffic today.
My laptop sat there trying to connect to the Store as I thought of various ways of taking out my frustration. Would defenestration speed things up at all?
About four hours later the screen kicked into life and I was able to start downloading. I then switched on BF4 to kill some time.
To my surprise a short while later I got a notification telling me Destiny Beta had finished installing. I decided to finish my game (I was chasing the Mini Kamikaze achievement) and then investigate.
Within moments my hopes were dashed. Sony had lit a bonfire, only for them to duly wee on it from a great height.
My wait continues...

My diary can be summarised as follows:
Day 1: PSN Store down. Didn't get into it until 11pm. Started downloading.

It seems that xBox one owners got things a whole lot better with this beta. My boy spent the entire time playing, from day one right through to the end with no issues at all.
I watched some of it, looked pretty good...

The only downtime on PS4 was the 2 days they'd planned, so overall I think there were more days on PS4. I played it on both PS4 and Xbox One and there was no discernible difference. From what I've seen of last gen, there's a bit of a graphical and performance downgrade, but nothing you'd notice if you haven't played the current gen version.

I started earlier on PS4 as an exclusive; July 17-28 on PS3 and PS4, July 23-28 on Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
Then 2 days planned downtime to work on feedback for PS4/PS3 beta on 21st and 22nd.
"The Destiny Public Beta began on July 17, 2014 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 platforms,[6] before going offline for maintenance on July 21 and 22. ...Still don't get it. My boy played from the 17th right through. Watched him do it. He even took time off work for it. So did his mate.

Xbox beta started on 22nd July, it was due to start on 23rd. There was no Xbox Beta until 22nd July and even then you needed the codes until a few days later. That quote clearly stated that the Xbox beta started on 22nd and was due to start on 23rd.
