The "Freeola Customer Forum" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
Well the new design seems OK, though the avatars are a bit repetitive and they do create a lot of blank space in the listings.
Do the avatars deter new users?
Work is progressing on the chat forum system to enable you (Freeola customers) to have ready made forums on your web sites.
Freeola Bingo is much improved now that it runs constantly. Originally suggested on the forums, Freeola Bingo was intended to give the forums a boost. By the way, it's not intended to be a permanent fixture and Google won't allow us to advertise it, even though it's free.
The site gets thousands of visitors and hundreds of new sign-ups per day, but this is hardly evident on the forums.
It does not seem worthwhile to me, to have eight different forums generating small numbers of posts. Maybe there should only be one.
As the rest of Gameaday is games orientated wouldn't it be better to have one focal point and declare this a games forum. After all you can still chat and post intelligent threads or stories, or talk about wrestling, regardless of what the forums are actually called. Back to our roots perhaps.
Or have chat forums "had their day"?

I didn't realise we were still compromised, that might make it more difficult to invest (energy, effort, money).

Your traffic, that's the number of people seeing you, comes from Cheats, Walkthroughs and Gameaday, which are advertised externally and very well visited. We can't advertise chat directly, I know, I've tried, it doesn't work, it's too expensive. Please don't expect much promotion on Freeola ISP pages as we have a lot of ISP stuff to pack into them.

Your traffic, that's the number of people seeing you, comes from Cheats, Walkthroughs and Gameaday, which are advertised externally and very well visited. We can't advertise chat directly, I know, I've tried, it doesn't work, it's too expensive. Please don't expect much promotion on Freeola ISP pages as we have a lot of ISP stuff to pack into them.
I don't think we need PM filters any longer, the two sites have happily co-existed for some time now...

There are a lot of us that use it as our image hosting site and so when a large game comes out screenshots and things are uploaded to there.
Not being able to use those URLs on here means i personally don't really write about recent PC games as i can't be bothered to upload them all somewhere else as well, just because of a silly filter, and writing a post without screenshots is rubbish as people want to see what you are talking about without having to go search for some themselves.

I guess arguing about whether the navigation into the forums is sufficient is slightly pointless. Ultimately Freeola are the ones with the server logs and thus can tell quite easily if the links into the forum are insufficient. If they say its ok well...can only accept that it is. And if I've understood Tony correctly, people are finding the forum, the problem is that they arent posting.

People left, moved on, went to other forums to keep in touch. This place is like a brand new forum that just opened with a handful of members.
It's new and it's fresh, it's not going to do well over night.
The reason most forums pick up with thoasands of members is to do with their forums having a point. Something to draw people in. Let's face it, the main reason for this forum being here is the nostalgia of a couple of people.
